Dr. Nikolova was raised in Des Plaines and graduated from Elk Grove High School. She has a degree in Chemistry and Spanish from Elmhurst University. There, she graduated cum laude and was an honors global scholar having completed international studies in Spain and Costa Rica. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO), graduating with clinical honors in 2020. Dr. Nikolova has completed clinical rotations at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC and the San Diego Center for Vision Care in San Diego, CA. She is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Illinois Optometric Association (IOA).
She has received extensive training in providing comprehensive eye examinations and treatment of chronic and acute ocular disease for patients of all ages. Her special interests include:
- Pediatric vision care with an emphasis in the management of progressive myopia
- Treatment of Digital Eye Strain disorders including dry eye, contact lens related discomfort, muscle fatigue, and headaches
- Prescribing specialty lenses for migraine symptom relief
Dr. Nikolova also provides eye examinations in Spanish and Bulgarian.
In her free time, she enjoys learning new things, spending time with her family, and planning her next trip.
Dr. Nikolova maintains office hours in Naperville and Downers Grove.
