Raised in Streamwood, Illinois, Dr. Shpountova earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and completed the Optometry Practicum Program at Benedictine University. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry, where she completed a diverse series of clinical rotations. These included the Illinois Eye Institute in Illinois, Swagel Wootton Eye Institute in Arizona, The Villages VA Clinic in Florida, and Envision Eyecare in Wisconsin. She graduated with awards in clinical excellence and for her contributions to research in the field.
Seeking to specialize further, she pursued a residency in ocular disease, low vision rehabilitation, and specialty contact lenses at the Jesse Brown VAMC and Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital Blind Rehabilitation Center. This residency provided her with invaluable experience in managing complex ocular and systemic diseases. Following residency, Dr. Shpountova joined Rosin Eyecare to provide comprehensive eye care to the communities of Evanston and Glenview, Illinois.
Dr. Shpountova takes pride in offering full-scope optometric care, from routine eye exams to managing eye diseases and fitting specialty contact lenses. She is dedicated to the optometric community and is a member of both the Illinois and American Optometric Associations.
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Shpountova is a Lombard resident who enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family and is always on the lookout for new travel recommendations.
