Dr. Shpountova was raised in Streamwood and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and completed the Optometry Practicum Program at Benedictine University. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) and graduated with awards in clinical excellence and honored for her contributions to research in the field. She then pursued a residency in ocular disease, low vision rehabilitation, and specialty contact lenses at the Jesse Brown VAMC and Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital Blind Rehabilitation Center.
Dr. Shpountova takes pride in offering full-scope optometric care, from routine eye exams to managing ocular disease and fitting specialty contact lenses. She is dedicated to the optometric community and is a member of both the Illinois (IOA) and American (AOA) Optometric Associations and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Shpountova is a Lisle resident who enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family and is always on the lookout for new travel and restaurant recommendations.
